2015 Mt. SAC Relays (Apr. 17)
2015 Bryan Clay InvitationalDown in Southern California for a pair of meets, Academy of Art Track & Field saw multiple personal records set on the women's side on day one of the Mt. SAC Relays and at Azusa Pacific's Bryan Clay Invitational.
WALNUT, Calif. – It was
Mistic Scott's 400m dash that captured the spotlight on Friday. She delivered a PR of 55.69 which was both a NCAA Nationals provisional qualifier and the second-lowest time run by an Urban Knight to date. Scott knocked of 0.20 off her previous low and breaks into the top-12 in the country with that time.
In the men's 1500m, Valentin Pepiot went for a PR with his 3:51.49 mark. The time is second all-time in program history and makes him a NCAA provisional qualifier as well.Though not personal records,
Shaquille Howard's time of 47.79 in the 400m dash and
Keanna Moody's 1:01.08 in the 400m hurdles put both athletes among the upper half in their respective events. Howard finished 15th of 61 and Moody was 17th out of 39 hurdlers.
AZUSA, Calif. – Less than 10 miles from Hilmer Lodge Stadium (the site of the Mt. SAC Relays), a larger contingent of Urban Knights were competing in the Bryan Clay Invitational on the campus of Azusa Pacific University.
In a rather short span,
Kaelyn Harbison delivered a pair of personal records in the 800m and 1500m events. She went 2:14.79 to set a new program record as the 38th finisher in a field of 114 in the 800m. Bettering her previous number one time, Harbison dropped 0.23 off her mark from the end of last year.
Then in the 1500m, Harbison came through with another PR of 4:40.86 to again top her time achieved a year and a half ago. She led a trio of Knights with the second-lowest time in program history.
A pair of PRs also came for
Alexander McNally who went 10.92 in the 100m dash and 21.92 in the 200m dash. In two races of 70+ participants, he finished 14th and 17th respectively.
On Saturday, Academy of Art will be back for day two of the Mt. SAC Relays on Saturday and another contingent of athletes will simultaneously compete at the CSUEB/Chabot Legacy meet in Hayward.
