2015 San Diego State Aztec Invitational ResultsSAN DIEGO, Calif. – Another outdoor meet, another set of Academy of Art Track & Field NCAA Nationals provisional qualifiers comes forth. This time at San Diego State's 37th Annual Aztec Invitational,
Jordan Edwards (100m, 200m),
Keanna Moody (400m),
Shaquille Howard (400m),
Marlon Britton (110mH), and both the men's and women's 4x100m relay teams made the cut.
Across five events, the ART U men's team produced provisional qualifiers in each. Most notably were the 100m and 200m featuring Edwards' high marks. In the 100m, he went 10.40 to match his own time that sits #1 in the country. The 200m was another breakout for Edwards who posted a 21.01 which makes him second in the entire NCAA Division II.
Howard was strong in the 400m, finishing first at the meet with a provisional qualifying time. He moves up to fourth in the country.
The 110m hurdles saw Britton tie the provisional standard with a 14.60 though he has gone as low as 14.46 thus far.
Many of those individuals showed their talents in the 4x100m as well where Edwards, Britton,
Alexander McNally, and Howard combined to go 40.56 for another provisional qualifying time. The mark was just barely fourth on the program's all-time list.
On the women's side, Moody shared in both provisional times, doing the first on her own in with a 55.30 in the 400m. That time was ART U's best of a young season. She later joined
Mistic Scott,
Amanda Odesjo, and
Atiya Harvey in a 46.53 which serves as a provisional qualifier in the 4x100m.
Academy of Art splits to Southern and Northern California next weekend with the UCLA Legends Invitational (Apr. 4) and the SF State Distance Carnival (Apr. 3-4) happening simultaneously.
