San Francisco, CA — A single penalty kick was the only difference in the game Saturday, as visiting Chaminade took advantage of its opportunity and escaped with a 1-0 Pacific West Conference win over the Academy of Art University women's soccer team at CCSF.
 
Chaminade's (3-8-1, 3-5-1 PacWest) Kristen Fujinaga was fouled inside the box in the 34th minute of the first half. She and an Academy of Art defender went up for a header and she was knocked down from behind to draw the foul. Fujinaga would convert low and left to give the Silverswords a 1-0 lead.
 
The Urban Knights (2-11-1, 2-6 PacWest) dominated possession and outshot the Silverswords 26-5 in the game, including 16-2 in the second half alone. Only three of those shots were on goal, however, and Chaminade goalkeeper Lauren Ishii made all three saves for the shutout victory. ART U also held the edge in corner kicks 6-2.
 
The Urban Knights now head out on the road on a three-game PacWest road trip that will take them to Azusa Pacific (Thursday), Dixie State (Saturday) and Holy Names (Nov. 6).
