Box Score SAN DIEGO — Point Loma Nazarene got two first half goals Saturday and played stout defense as the Sea Lions came away with a 2-0 win over the Academy of Art University women's soccer team at PLNU Soccer Field.

Rachael Rempe totaled nine saves in 90 minutes for the Urban Knights (1-10-1, 1-5 PacWest). ART U had four shots on the day from four different players, as
Marley Sutter,
Louise Fillingham,
Brooke Stewart and
Natalie Gabriel all took aim for the Knights.

The win was PLNU's (9-2, 8-0 PacWest) eighth in a row dating to Sept. 20 and fifth straight shutout victory. The Sea Lions' first goal came in the 28th minute on an unassisted score from Claire Mathews, her first of the year. PLNU would add a second goal before halftime in the 41st minute thanks to an own goal by the Urban Knights.

Point Loma Nazarene outshot ART U 24-4, including 11-0 in shots on goal. They led in corner kicks 8-0 and were aggressive enough to earn five offsides calls during the game. The loss was Academy of Art's third consecutive shutout defeat and fifth straight loss overall.

ART U returns home next week for a two-game homestand beginning at 1 p.m. Thursday at Crocker Amazon Park versus BYU-Hawaii.
