Knights To Celebrate Seniors In Final Home Game of 2012

Game #15
ART U Urban Knights (4-10, 2-8 PWC) vs. Notre Dame de Namur (6-9-1, 5-6-1 PWC)
Friday, October 26, 2012 at 3:00 PM
San Francisco, CA -- Crocker Amazon Field

ON THE APPROACH
The Urban Knights women's soccer squad plays their final home game of the 2012 season this week, taking on South Bay rival Notre Dame de Namur on Friday. The Knights are coming off four straight road games and are looking for a win at home, where they have been very successful, before heading out on their final road trip. The Knights played two close games last week, falling 1-0 to Dominican and 2-0 to Fresno Pacific.

AN OLD FOE IN THE ARGOS
The Knights have played NDNU eight times in their history, and a majority of those games have been close-fought until the end of the game. Three of their games have gone the distance through two overtimes, ending in two ties an one OT loss for ART U. Including the two ties, five of the eight games have been decided by one goal or less. The Argos are led by a quartet of players that have double-digit points on the year, with Adriana Cortes leading the way with 17 points. The Knights are looking to avenge a high-scoring affair back on Oct. 4, where the Knights went up early but fell 5-3 to the Argonauts.

SENIORS CELEBRATE THEIR SEASON
Two of the three captains on the ART U squad are playing their final home games in an Urban Knights uniform on Friday. Tanner McCandlish and Jasmine Sharpe have both played all four years at ART U, and have contributed on and off the field for the Knights. Sharpe and McCandlish have combined to play 127 games and 9,564 minutes in their careers.

COMING UP SOON
The Knights finish up their home campaign on Friday and then are off to Hawai'i to play their final three games of the season. On Tuesday they'll take on Chaminade University, then on Thursday they'll play Hawai'i Pacific, also on Oahu. Then they'll fly to Hilo on Saturday to close out the season against the Vulcans.
