Knights Host Hilo Before Heading on the Road

Game #5
ART U (1-2-1/ 0-2 PWC) vs. University of Hawaii Hilo (1-4-1/0-3 PWC)
Wednesday, September 22 at 1:00 pm

San Francisco, CA – Boxer Stadium

Urban Knight Recap: The Knights faced two very strong Pacific West conference teams last week. They played well and battled all game long, but ended up coming up short in both games. Despite the loses, it was a learning experience for the girls and they are now more prepared to face the Hawaiian teams during the next couple of weeks.

Knights Standouts: The women are still led offensively by freshman Hannah Emmett who has three goals and two assists on the season. Right behind her is junior Megan Bucci who currently has two goals and two assists for six points. Sophomores Carmela Doerr and Jasmine Sharpe both have four points on the year thus far.

Scouting the University of Hawaii Hilo:  The University of Hawaii Hilo currently sits at the bottom of the PacWest standings with an 0-3 conference record. The Vulcans are being led offensively by Emily Lambert and Analysa Rodriguez who both have one goal and one assist on the season for a total of three points. Four other Vulcans have recorded one goal so far on the season. Alysia Barone has seen the most time in the net for her team. In over 420 minutes as keeper, Barone has allowed eight goals and posted 28 saves. Hilo has a fairly young time composed of five seniors, three juniors, five sophomores, and 11 freshmen. Last year when the two teams faced each other, ART U defeated the Vulcans with a score of 2-0.

Looking ahead: After this home game, the Knights hit the road for the longest road trip of their season. They head to Hawaii for a five game series against all four PacWest Hawaiian schools. The women kick off the road trip by facing Hawaii Pacific University on Saturday, September 25th. Game time is set for 3:00 pm (HST) in Kailua, HI.
