Tennis to Host Notre Dame de Namur on Wednesday

Game #18:
AAU (5-12) vs. Notre Dame de Namur University (1-11)
April 7th at 9:30 AM
San Francisco, CA - San Francisco Tennis Club

Match Update: The Academy of Art University's tennis team has changed their match this week. The women were originally scheduled to host PacWest members Notre Dame de Namur University on Friday, however, the match has been changed to Wednesday, April 7th at 9:30 AM. This will be the last home match for the Urban Knights this season, as well as the last match before they head to the PacWest Championships.

Tennis News:
This final home match will be the first match for the Urban Knights in ten days, and since they concluded their road trip in Hawaii. Even though the Knights dropped every match in Hawaii, it was a great learning experience for the young AAU team, and they made great strides in thier play. The Hawaiian schools in the PacWest are all ranked nationally in Division II, and provide some of the toughest competition the Urban Knights will face. They will be able to use what they learned during those games and carry it into the PacWest Championships next week.

Leading the Urban Knights: Laone "Lala" Botshoma currently leads the Urban Knights with a 10-7 overall record. When Botshoma and freshman Diane Phan have combined for doubles, they have been very powerful and productive for AAU. Together, they have a 9-8 doubles record. Paola Correa Fe is second on the team with an overall record of 6-11.

Scouting Notre Dame de Namur: The Argos have had a slow season so far as they have only recorded one win on the season. That win came against La Sierra University on March 12th. They are led by their two seniors Kaylee Nichols, and Maurren Olivar. In the first match up this season between the Urban Knights and the Argos, the Knights came out victorious with a score of 9-0. It was the first match in the 2010 season for both teams.

Looking Ahead: After the final home match, the Urban Knights will head to the PacWest Championships. The tournament will be held from April 15th to April 27th in Glendale, AZ.
