ON THE ROAD AGAIN
AAU hits the road for the final time this season as they travel to Phoenix, AZ and St. George, UT in rematches against Grand Canyon University and Dixie State College. The Urban Knights held their own with both teams in their last meetings but ultimately dropped both matches.
HONOR ROLL
Jessica Nolan (Adelaide, Australia) earned her fourth straight PacWest Top 10 Honor Roll nomination this week. The award was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, Feb. 22, for games contested Feb. 15-21.
Nolan was virtually unstoppable from the field, as she made 9 of 11 field goal attempts. She also doled out five assists, grabbed six rebounds and recorded four steals. Her 27 point performance posted the highest scoring game of the week in the PacWest.
Coach Yamasaki had this to say of the junior "Jess has continued to push herself more and more offensively for us this season. I have told her that she needs to think “score” first and although resistant at times, she has taken that challenge head on."
The key to the Urban Knights success lies in the hands of Nolan, "I know it is a lot of responsibility but someone with her level of court sense and athleticism not only has the ability to raise the level of play but also the ability to make everyone around her better", said Yamasaki.
