BRUCE HENDERSON MEMORIAL CAPITAL CITY CLASSIC
In ART U's first game against Corban University, the Urban Knights used a 53% shooting performance to ensure their 93-73 win over the Warriors. Jessica Nolan had an outstanding night for ART U, finishing with a team high 17 points. The senior was 7-of-10 from the field, and grabbed a game high 11 rebounds. Nolan also finished with six assists and two steals. Devin London finished the night with 14 points on five of six shooting. London was 1-of-1 from three point territory, and a perfect 3-of-3 from the line. She also added five rebounds, five assists, and four steals. Lorraine Etchell went six of nine from the floor tonight and chipped in with 12 points. Alisa Griggs rounded out the double digit club, finishing with 11 points.

Game two of the Capital City Classic had its peaks and valleys. The Urban Knights shot 34% from the floor in the first and couldn't connect from downtown as ART U went into the locker room down 11 points to host Willamette University. Within the first seven minutes of the second half ART U was able to create turnovers and capitalize on missed opportunities by the Bearcats to take the lead. London gave the Urban Knights their first lead since 10:43 in the first half, and over the course of the next few minutes ART U extended their lead to the largest of the contest (8) 59-51 with 8:33 left in the ball game. The Bearcats, however, answered with a 10-2 run which tied the contest for the seventh and final time. Sharp shooting down the stretch gave Willamette the 79-70 advantage to end the game.

Devin London tallied 17 points and earned four steals. Jessica Nolan recorded 15 points, and a season high 17 rebounds, five assists and four steals for the Urban Knights. Alisa Griggs finished with 12 points and six rebounds, on 3-of-6 shooting. Verity Peets chipped in with eight points and five rebounds off the bench.

SCOUTING THE HAWKS

Holy Names University is 3-7 overall and are 1-2 on the road. The Hawks opened their season with two losses. They picked up two back-to-back wins over PacWest opponent Dominican University on Nov 9, and CCAA competitor Cal State East Bay on Nov 10. Since then the Hawks have gone 1-6 entering into their game with the Urban Knights. Their solo win came against Fresno Pacific University before Thanksgiving.

Offensively, Jamie Ronolo leads the Hawks with 11 points per game. Lesley Vodicska is next on the team with 8.2 points per game. Vodicska also leads the team in assists with 35. Yesenia Garzon has grabbed a team high 55 boards, 32 of which are offensive, while Vodicska follows close behind with 39 total rebounds.

The Hawks average 60 points per game as a team while the Urban Knights are averaging 70 points per game. The Urban Knights have cnnected on 23 of their 75 three-point attempts, while the Hawks average 22.5 three point attempts per contest and have knocked down 61 on the season.

BIG RED FREAKOUT!

The Urban Knight women's basketball team returns to Kezar Pavilion for a non-conference contest against Holy Names University. ART U enters the match 1-4, and are coming off a tough 79-70 loss to Willamette University. Academy of Art University is calling on fans dressed in RED to propel them over Holy Names University. In their first home contest against Cal State LA the Urban Knights came up a bit short and hope to leave Urban Knight fanatics with a win this time around!

KNIGHT TO WATCH

Devin London was a key factor in the Urban Knights success last weekend. London averaged 15.5 points while shooting 52.4% (11 for 21) from the floor. The junior ranked seventh in scoring and 10th in shooting for the week in the PacWest. London also averaged 3.0 assists (tied for 10th) and 4.0 steals (tied for third).

Devin was virtually perfect from the floor in the Urban Knights win over Corban University. London finished with 14 points on five of six shooting. The junior was 1-of-1 from three point territory, and a perfect 3-of-3 from the line. She also added five rebounds, five assists, and four steals. London came alive offensively in the Urban Knights loss to Willamette University, finishing with 17 points and tallying four steals.
