LUCKY NUMBER SEVEN
The Academy of Art women's volleyball team has won their last seven matches, including their first five conference matches. ART U is the only unbeaten team in conference play going into their five game home stint. The Urban Knights just completed a sweep of the predicted preseason conference champs, Dixie State College.

WEEKLY TOP TEN
For the second time this season, senior outside hitter Dan Yang has been named the Pacific West Conference Volleyball Player of the Week.

Yang led the Urban Knights to a 2-0 week with a pair of victories at Dixie State by topping the PacWest in total kills (42) and ranking fourth in kills per game (4.20). She also ranked fifth in scoring for the week, totaling 46.5 points (4.65 per game average) on her 42 kills, two aces and five block assists.

Two more ART U athletes received PacWest Top 10 bids, in Melissa Cheng and Leinani Keanini. Both athletes have been a consistent force for the Urban Knights and have played a major role in their accomplishments in PacWest play.

Melissa Cheng topped the PacWest in assists (93) and ranked fourth in assists per game (9.30) for the week. The sophomore has already accumulated 500+ assists on the season and is well on her way to besting her previous season. ART U's final match in St. George saw Cheng notch her third 50+ assist match (54) finishing just four shy of her career high, 58.

Leinani Keanini ranked second in overall digs and fourth in digs per game (5.20) for the week in the PacWest. Keanini has been a tremendous help for the Urban Knights, as Head Coach Allison Magner knows that she can count on Keanini to sacrifice her body for the good of the team. Lei put in a career high performance in the Urban Knights last match against Dixie State, the junior finished the night with 28 digs (her fifth match with 20+ digs).

SCOUTING THE SEA WARRRIORS
Hawaii Pacific started their season with a six game win streak. Heading into conference play HPU had dropped just one match, to #12 Seattle Pacific University. At the start of conference play, HPU rolled past Chaminade, dropped their second match of the season to Hawaii-Hilo, and then grabbed a win away from BYU-Hawaii.

Kelly Balanay leads the Sea Warriors offensively with 100 kills and a .293 hitting percentage. Natasha Bell is next on the team with 96 kills and 112 digs. Dishing out the assists for HPU is Pihana Kea, who has 358 assists.

SCOUTING THE SEASIDERS
BYU-Hawaii is 5-5 on the season and 2-1 on conference play. The Seasiders started their season with three straight losses, but have now won three of their last four matches; including two conference victories over Chaminade Univ. and Univ. Hawaii-Hilo.

As a team BYU-Hawaii has a .205 hitting percentage to that of their opposition, who average .174. Lauren Hagemeyer has played in all 36 sets for BYU and has accumulated 105 kills. Losaline Faka'osi and Julia Becker are next on the team registering 97 and 92 kills respectively. Two players have double digit kills for the Seasiders. Nobuko Kotoyori leads the team with 175, while Faka'osi is right behind her with 123.
