-- The Urban Knights (3-2-1) established their dominance early Saturday Afternoon against the visiting Bethany University Bruins beating them 4-1. The Knights scored early and never looked back. Although the Urban Knights were in control for the entire match the Bruins proved that they were not going down without a fight. Bethany racked up six fouls earning two yellow cards and one red card late in the game. However, the Bruins were not the only team displaying their physicality, AAU would tally 19 fouls on the game with Richard Martin (Biggin Hill, England) and Kyle Mannschreck (Minden, NV) both earning a yellow card apiece.

Frankie Diaz (Tracy, CA) scored AAU's first goal just 10 minutes into the game, Mario Pineda (Madera, CA) set the play in motion and passed the ball to a streaking Diaz who tapped the ball into the net. Academy of Art would go on to score two more goals before halftime. Brazer Bozlak (Gavle, Sweden) notch goal number two for the Urban Knights using his fancy footwork skills to juke his opponents and drive the ball just past the hands of the goalie. The third goal of the game came 33 minutes into the game when Diaz was tackled in the box and setting up a penalty kick situation. The kick was good and the goal put AAU up 3-0 going into the half.

The Academy of Art would swap Daniel Waller (Biggin Hill, England) for Ian Sutherland (Honolulu, HI) to start the second half. Both goalies only faced one shot on goal between the two of them. The defensive line on both teams helped their goal keepers out during game blocking shots before ever reaching the goalie.

The second half of the game saw one goal scored by AAU, Jaime Patino-Calvo (Davie, FL) broke the defense and found an open Richard Martin (Biggin Hill, England) to put the Urban Knights up 4 with just 15  minutes remaining. The game started to get really physical towards the end of the match PUC earned two back to back penalty shots 76 minutes in. The first shot saw PUC's Gabrie Cassaro try to slide the ball into the net but a diving Sutherland knocked the ball out of the way giving AAU their only save of the game. No more than two minutes later Cassaro was awarded another shot this time he was able to connect on a high ball to the left post. The Bruins made the game 4-1 but the goal was too little too late and AAU remained a head to notch the victory.

Each team shot 11 times, however, the Bruins were only able to get two of them on target. PUC's Cassaro lead the team with 6 shots and 1 goal. Daniel Cuevas tallied 3 shots on the day, while Matheus Barbosa and Todd Hanson each took one shot. In the goal for the Bruins was Doug Crawford who allowed four goals and zero saves.

For the Urban Knights Frankie Diaz took three shots and scored two goals. This brings his season total to three goals.  Richard Martin scored his first goal of the season on two shot attempts, and Brazer Bozlak was one for one scoring on his only shot attempt.

The Urban Knights return to the field Sept 24 when they start conference play against Notre Dame de Namur game time is set for 1:30 PM at the Koret Field in Belmont, CA.
