From this Sunday through the end of the season, the Urban Knights will also play six of their next seven games on the road.

SCOUTING THE PIONEERS:

The Pioneers have also never suffered a losing streak at all this season because they have bounced back to win their next game each time. CSUEB is currently led by a long-range shooting guard tandem in Tauran Moore who averages just under 14 points per game (18-of-47 3PT) and Shea Frazee, who joined the team mid-season, contributes 10.9 points per game (20-of-32 3PT). As a note, both the Pioneers and the Urban Knights have also defeated Holy Names University (3-17) this season.

LAST GAME RECAP:

Playing its third game against Holy Names in the span of a week, Academy of Art University won the season series 2-1 by defeating the Hawks 65-59 on Jan. 6. Sophomore point guard Weleh Dennis went for a career-high 33 points and lived from the free throw line with a 14-of-18 performance from the stripe. Freshman forward Lorenzo Dobson posted a career-high of his own with 11 rebounds while sophomore guard Phillip Samuel added nine points primarily from the foul line as well (7-of-8 FT). Up 42-33 at halftime, the Urban Knights went on withstand a second-half burst by Jonathan Kargas and the Hawks and take their third victory of the season. AAU is now undefeated since the beginning of 2009.
