Box Score

ROHNERT PARK, Calif -
The Sonoma State women's volleyball team came out more fired up than Academy of Art on Wednesday night at Seawolf Gym, sweeping the Urban Knights, 3-0. The Seawolves improve their record to 12-1 on the year, and have now won eight straight matches. While the loss drops the Urban Knights to 10-4.

The Urban Knights who were on a 8-0 streak, are still doing better than most expect for a first year program.

The Seawolves took match one fairly easily by a score of 25-13. The second set saw the Urban Knights keeping it close with a final score of 25-22. And in the third match Sonoma State sealed the deal, with a 25-15 victory.

No Knight registered double-digit kills in the match. KaUwila Lavea lead the Knights with a team high 9 kills,  while Sophomore Dan Yang chipped in with 7 kills.  Ali Tyson-Taufoou led the Knights with a team high 16 digs.

Defensively, Sonoma State stymied the Academy of Art attack, turning in eight blocks on the night to AAUs 4. Lindsay Brown and Sarah Illingworth tallied five and four blocks respectively for the seawolves.

The Academy of Art looks to get back on the right track Saturday Afternoon when they take on the visiting Chaminade University Silverswords Saturday afternoon at 3pm at Kezar Pavilion.
