Academy of Art University Athletics

Competing in her first match since 2021, redshirt junior defender Katie Williams triumphantly returned to lead Academy of Art women's soccer to its first win of the season during the opening week of action in 2023.

Williams initially helped the Urban Knights further their advantage over Jessup with the fourth goal of her career being headed through in the 20th minute. The 47th minute of the Aug. 31 matchup then saw the Architecture major set up freshman midfielder Ashley Tasev's game-winning score with a shot off the Jessup goalkeeper. Two days later on Sept. 2, Williams once again played all 90 minutes as ART U held UC Merced to just one goal on the road.

Two matches into the year, Williams ranks fifth in the Pacific West Conference in total points (3), tying with numerous others in both goals (1) and assists (1).
