Freshman Jessica Plazas posted three singles wins while adding two more doubles victories in a busy week for Academy of Art women's tennis.
The Urban Knights' first home match of the season saw Plazas team with sophomore Erica Hellbe for a 7-3 tiebreaker doubles win in the 7-6 final over UH Hilo before making quick work of the Vulcans Julia Barden 6-2, 6-0 in singles play on
Feb. 28. Plazas would then surrender just three games to Alexandra Hincu of Cal State LA on
Mar. 3 as part of a 6-2, 6-1 singles triumph. Another day of victories came on
Mar. 4 as the Acting major joined with Hellbe in taking down No. 20 Point Loma's Arianna Audelo and Amanda Letzring 7-5 then topped Audelo 6-2, 6-4 in singles action.
