Excelling in all events in which she competed, Academy of Art track & field's Marie-Jeanne Ourega improved her marks throughout the team's two days of competition at the future site of NCAA Division II Indoor Nationals.

Beginning with the Marlin Invitational on Jan. 20, Ourega was able to out-perform Fayetteville State's M'Smrya Seward in the long jump to maintain the country's second spot with a season-best 20-2.5 (6.16m) in her first attempt. The Communications & Media Technologies major also featured her fastest 60m hurdles time of the season to that point as she went first of seven competitors at 8.76 with another Indoor Nationals provisional qualification.

That 60mH mark was bettered the following day on Jan. 21 at the Blue Marlin Invitational where Ourega reached the event finals and delivered a new season-best time of 8.65 to elevate her to 12th in the country. Soon after, she led the day's triple jump with a 40-5.5 (12.33m) on her fifth attempt, taking her to seventh in the nation as she bettered the provisional standard for the third time in the competition alone.
