Zanichelli was the top finisher for Academy of Art men's golf during the first tournament of the year at the Saint Martin's Bishop Invitational, as the sophomore tide for seventh place at 2-under-par 142. He got off to a hot start in his opening round as he carded a  4-under-par 68, adding his name to the program's top 10 all-time single best rounds, doing so on the strength of five birdies and was one of just three players to record an eagle. Thanks to three birdies in the final round where he shot a 2-over-par 74, Zanichelli finished in a tie for seventh in the tournament field in birdies with eight.
