Graduate student outside hitter Maya McClellan became part of Academy of Art volleyball history while contributing in numerous ways to the Urban Knights' inspired 3-2 victory over Hawaii Pacific on Sept. 17.

Following a Sept. 16 matchup with Chaminade in which she posted three kills, six digs, and two blocks (including her first block solo of the year), McClellan tied the program's single-match record with seven service aces against HPU. The Interior Architecture & Design major matched the total originally set by Kanoe Irvine on Oct. 19, 2010 and was a force both offensively and defensively, adding her fourth double-double of the year with 13 kills and a season-best 20 digs.

McClellan currently ranks second on the team in points (3.10), kills (2.62), and digs (2.57) per set in addition to being tied for the lead in total service aces (16).
