Freshman infielder Nicole Smith saved her best for last this season. In the Urban Knights' final week of the season, Smith had her first two three-hit games of 2010 and capped everything off with a grand slam against Dixie State, the No. 2 team in the PacWest. The freshman had three hits in both sides of an Apr. 23 doubleheader versus Notre Dame de Namur to finish that day 6-for-8 with three runs batted in and one run scored. On Senior Day versus the Red Storm, Smith previewed the bright future of Academy of Art Softball with her dramatic grand slam in a 12-2 victory on Apr. 25. The four RBIs were a season-high for the freshman and the home run was her first as an Urban Knight.
