In her postseason debut with Academy of Art, Camille Jouanno walked away a national champion. At the 2019 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field National Championships on Mar. 9, the native of Bordeaux, France absolutely dominated the triple jump, setting a new program record in the process.

Jouanno started with a 41-5.25 (12.63m) jump on her second attempt and promptly broke Vashti Thomas' 2012 ART U record with a distance of 41-11.5 (12.79m) on her third try, putting her in second place out of the prelims She would remain above 41-4 (12.59m) in all of her subsequent attempts and eventually pushed the record to 42-5.25 (12.93m) with her fifth jump, earning a national championship in the process. The distance would better her next closest competitor, Cierra Pulliam of Lewis, by more than three inches.

"Camille is a heck of a competitor," said assistant coach Akil Gipson. "She worked really hard this semester and bought into the process. When you combine those things, you give yourself a chance to compete at the highest level. This national title is a testament to all the hard work she has done since she arrived on campus in January."
