Senior middle blocker Margaret Winkler made more Academy of Art volleyball program history this past weekend in Southern California. Having already earned the title of career block assists leader, the Advertising major became the Urban Knights' all-time blocks leader in their victory over Point Loma on Oct. 7.

Winkler averaged 0.80 blocks per set through three matches, posted a pair of block solos against Azusa Pacific on Oct. 5, and ended the week with five block assists against the Sea Lions. She added five kills in that SoCal finale as well. The Poznan, Poland native now has 270 rejections in her career and ranks eighth in the PacWest in blocks per set (0.96).

"Margaret is truly a student of the game," said Batalon. "She takes additional time to watch the opponents and their tendencies and it adds to her blocking. I'm very proud of her and the time she has put into this aspect of her game."
