Klara Thell-Lenntorp was named one of this week’s athletes of the week after successfully defending her title as ITA West-Regionals doubles champion along with her sister, Alma. The juniors won five matches over the course of the tournament, never conceding more than four games until the championship when they defeated Warren and Zuidema from Sonoma State 9-7. The twins were crowned champs in 2016 as well before placing fifth at the ITA Oracle Cup. The duo will now head to Rome, Georgia where they will compete at the 2017 Oracle Cup October 11-15. Klara also enjoyed success in the singles portion of the tourney: entering as the No. 7-seed, she compiled three wins to reach the semifinals before falling to Anastasiia Kuprina from Concordia.
