Beatriz Martinez Mercado continued to steadily drop her marks and subsequently the program record in the 800m at The Cardinal Classic this past weekend. On Apr. 21, Martinez Mercado cut major time off her previous low, going 2:10.48 to enter the country's top 25 in the event. Her previous personal record had been 2:12.36 from mid-March.

On Apr. 22, Martinez Mercado would also join teammates for a NCAA provisional in the 4x400m relay. The quartet offered a 3:46.77 to put themselves now 21st in the country.
