The Academy of Art University women's tennis team has had their fair share of highlights this season, and last week against Division I Weber State and Dominican, junior Jenny Johansson showed off why she has been an important part of the success to the tennis program. Johansson handled Weber State opponent Nittaya Phonharath 6-0, 6-1, and swept away Dominican's Kelly Zwicker 6-0, 6-0, to improve to 10-1 on the season. In doubles play, she and Lucia Zavarcikova improved to 9-0 on the season with wins over their counterparts.
Johansson is 10-1 in singles play and in those wins has racked up 10 6-0 set wins out of the 24 sets played. With her win on Sunday, she moved in to first place in ART U history in singles wins, passing Amal Ben El Hadj with career win number 43. She is 43-9 over that span, a winning percentage of .827, and now also has 34 career doubles wins.
