Sophomore Rachael Smith took over the setting duties as a freshman last year and had a fantastic week against Chaminade and Hawaii Pacific last week, totaling 113 assists thanks to a new ART U record 63 assists against HPU. Smith now has 578 assists on the year at a rate of 10.32 per set, which ranks fourth in the conference. Smith has also upped her game on getting involved in the offense, already surpassing her kill count from last year at hitting at a rate of .333 on the year. 

Smith's 1493 assists are now second all-time while her career mark of 9.82 assists per set is atop the Urban Knights list. Her 63-assist performance was accomplished four years to the day that Melissa Cheng set the bar at 59 assists back in 2009.
