Adding to the list of Urban Knights heading to NCAA Division II Outdoor Nationals, Dominique Berry produced her third-lowest time of the year in the 400m hurdles to earn a NCAA provisional qualifier at the Oxy Invitational on Saturday, May 4.
Crossing the finish line in 7th place of 21 overall with a time of 1:00.58, Berry put herself 10th overall in the country in Division II. The Oakland, CA native was 3rd overall among competitors representing four-year institutions and bested the top hurdlers from Cal State Fullerton as well as Alaska Anchorage.
"Dominique locking up her spot in the championships is huge for us," head coach Charles Ryan said. "She has the ability to be an All-American in the 400mH and that would be a huge boost to our team title aspirations. She has worked really hard and is still learning the race, but she gets better every week and I'm excited for her."
