Kunkanda "Cartoon" Phukchampa witnessed a return to form last week, posting a 2-2 mark overall and winning both her singles and doubles matches against Sonoma State last Saturday. The senior teamed up with freshman Jenny Johansson to win the doubles match 8-4, while Phukchampa rebounded from a 4-6 loss in the first set to fire off two 6-4 victories to take the set and put the Knights back on track to win 5-4.

Phukchampa is currently ranked 13th in the region in singles play, and is 9-7 in doubles play for the Urban Knights. She is 8-6 when teamed with Amal Ben El Hadj, but while her partner has been battling illness this past week, Phukchampa and Johansson have gone 1-1.
