Niko Leite played all around the diamond last year for the Academy of Art baseball team, and is right back at it again here in 2012, most recently logging a lot of innings behind the plate at catcher. In the series this weekend against Hilo, Leite has registered a hit in every game so far, going 6-for-11, good for a .545 mark. He also has a double and a run scored in that time.
Leite is riding a three-game hitting streak, and has hit safely in six of the past seven contests. He's hitting .237 on the year, is 4-for-4 in stolen base attempts, and has three doubles and two triples. The senior from Rodeo, CA has spent time at catcher, second base, third base, outfield, and has even pitched 8.2 innings for the Urban Knights.
