Freshman Meri Illamola was the top finisher for Academy of Art women’s golf this past week at the Pacific West Conference Tournament on Apr. 23 as her 4-over-par 219 earned her a second place finish, her best while on the Urban Knights while the tournament contained 50 total golfers.

Paced by her first and third rounds, Illamola’s duo of 1-under-par 71’s is what led to her best performance as a Knight. Illamola's 71’s were the best rounds of her collegiate career, and were just in time to deliver herself a top 10 honor at the post-tournament ceremony. 

While Illamola led the team individually, she boosted the Urban Knights up the leaderboard to finish the tournament third of 10 teams.
