Multiple impressive outings were turned in by Academy of Art softball junior pitcher Kamielle Powell during the Urban Knights five-game week in the Tournament of Champions.

Powell opened the busy stretch by allowing two runs in 3.2 innings of work against Cal State Monterey Bay on Feb. 15 while starting what would become 16.0 consecutive innings without an earned run allowed. The Advertising major proceeded to strike out a career-high 10 in her third career shutout versus Cal State San Bernardino later that same day then returned for 6.0 innings with no earned runs to her name in a Feb. 16 matchup with SF State that saw her strike out two more.

On the year, Powell leads the Pacific West Conference in innings pitched (36.1) and strikeouts (28) while ranking seventh with a 1.93 earned run average.
