Freshman forward William Overton, Jr. erupted with a huge offensive game for Academy of Art University men's basketball in its victory over Menlo this past week. Not only did his 44 points set a new school record, but he also broke the previous mark of 39 set by Zack Whiting of Chaminade on Dec. 30, 2006, vs. Indianapolis. Current PacWest records begin with the 2006-07 season when the league reformed to its current structure.

Overton, Jr. was 10-for-15 shooting from the floor including five made 3-pointers. He added 19 made free throws to achieve the new ART U record in that category as well. Overton, Jr. poured in 28 second half points, propelling the Knights to their 86-75 victory over the Oaks. The freshman forward also contributed seven rebounds, two steals, and one blocked shot.
