With at least one hit in nearly every game Academy of Art softball played in Hawaii this past week, senior outfielder Cailee Grayhorse-Pupecki proved to be very productive when she made contact, driving in many of her fellow Urban Knights along the way.
Starting with a run-scoring triple and hits in both games versus Hawaii Pacific on
Apr. 2, the Fashion Design major continued to find a way to help her team in the series conclusion on
Apr. 3 with a run scored followed by another 1-for-4 effort that saw Grayhorse-Pupecki drive in the game-tying run at the time. She shined with an impressive combined 4-for-9 performance on
Apr. 6 performance at Chaminade, bringing home a run and scoring once before ending a home run shy of the cycle as she singled, doubled, and tripled while adding two more RBIs in a 3-for-4 second game. The Los Angeles native ended the series with another three-hit outing, doubling and driving in another as ART U swept its doubleheader with the Silverswords on
Apr. 7.
Grayhorse-Pupecki ended the week hitting .333 (10-for-30) with six RBIs, two runs scored, two doubles, two triples, and two stolen bases. The only player in the Pacific West Conference with at least four doubles, four triples (second in PacWest), and four home runs (seventh in PacWest), she ranks eighth in the PacWest with 18 RBIs.
