Junior forward Keith Davis’ first week of action at Academy of Art University was a memorable one. In his Urban Knight debut against Cal State East Bay on Nov. 15, Davis exploded for 25 points including a perfect night from beyond the arc (3-of-3 3pt) and the free throw line (8-of-8 FT). The transfer from Humboldt State became the third ART U athlete to score 25 points or more in a single game.

“It felt great,” Davis said about the achievement. “My team was picking me up every step of the way. After every shot I made, they told me 'Good job' and it was high-fives from everywhere. Even when I missed shots and I hung my head a little bit, the team was telling me 'We need you! We need you!' It just felt great to help my team out. I really don't think about myself out there, I think about the team because we, as a collective unit, can do it.”

At UC San Diego on Nov. 21, Davis showed his defensive talents and his versatility. The Long Beach, CA native scored six points, grabbed four rebounds, dished out three assists, blocked two shots, and added a steal. Much like the CSUEB game, seven consecutive points came from Davis’ hot hand during the second half against UCSD.
