Knights Hit Speed Bump in San Diego

Box Score

El Cajon, CA -- After breaking out for two second half goals last week against Simon Fraser, the Academy of Art University women's soccer team couldn't get the offense going on the road, as a first half goal held up to be the difference in a 1-0 loss to San Diego Christian College.

The Urban Knights struggled to get the offense going as they didn't get a shot off in the first half. Meanwhile, goalkeeper Rachael Rempe was kept busy, saving three shots on goal and five for the game, which tied her for the most saves all-time by an Urban Knight (116). But she and the Urban Knights will remember the one that got through, as Ashley Jarosin scored in the 14th minute on a set piece, assisted by Shayna Peterson.

The ART U defense stiffened in the second half and the offense made their adjustments, as they only allowed five shots in the second half and only one on goal, which was saved. The offense got three shots, with Lou Fillingham getting a solid look after her equalizer last Saturday, but the Hawks held the Knights in check and denied another comeback bid.

With one more school left on their Southern California road trip, the Knights head up the road to Fullerton, CA, to take on Hope International University this Saturday.
